Mint Julep

- Fresh Mint
- 2½ ozBuffalo Trace Bourbon
- ¼ ozSimple syrup
Method
In a julep cup or rocks glass, gently press mint with syrup to release its oils (do not tear). Add bourbon and pack tightly with crushed ice. Stir until the cup frosts. Add more crushed ice to form a mound above the rim.
Notes
Crushed ice is essential — it chills fast and dilutes to the right texture. Slap the mint garnish against your palm to release its aroma before placing. The bourbon should be higher-proof for the best result.
