  • Plantation 3 Stars White Rum
    1 oz
  • Gosling's Black Seal Rum
    1 oz
  • BG Reynolds Orgeat
    ½ oz
  • Cointreau
    ½ oz
  • Lemon Juice
    ¾ oz

Method

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake hard for 10–12 seconds. Strain over crushed ice in a rocks glass. If using the float technique, gently pour the dark rum last over the back of a spoon so it rests on top.

Notes

Victor 'Trader Vic' Bergeron created the original in 1944. The two-rum blend is key — white rum for brightness, dark rum for depth. Use a quality orgeat (almond syrup), not artificial flavoring.
